Clover Mites

Clover mites are tiny, bright red arachnids that are smaller than a pinhead. They feed on plant sap, particularly clover and lawn grasses. During the spring or fall, they can migrate indoors in enormous numbers, often congregating on sunny window sills.

While they do not bite humans or pets and do not transmit diseases, their sheer numbers make them a major nuisance. Crushing them leaves behind a distinct red stain on walls, carpets, and window treatments.
